The Vale of Clwyd Constituency Labour Party takes a keen interest in promoting all of the constituency's assets, as well as supporting local and national government in building further strengths in our communities.
From it's support for local health provision, the creation of local schemes to enable more employment for all people, to the inclusion of younger and older people in community activity, the Labour Party aims to help all the people of the Vale of Clwyd throughout their lives.
Labour is helping all hard working families and our goal is to end child poverty.
We are making work pay, even for those families in low income jobs. In Vale of Clwyd alone, the Child and Working Tax Credit awards are helping 5,900 hard working families (figures from January 2004).
We are committed to halving child poverty in ten years, on the way to abolishing it in a generation. In 1997 Labour inherited one of the highest rates of child poverty in Europe - with one in three children living in poverty. Our mission to abolish child poverty is grounded both in our determination to secure social justice, and to tackle the problems that the social exclusion of children builds up for the long term.
When they were last in power, the Tories gave hard working families recession, interest rates of 15 per cent and three million unemployed.
